Comparative analyses of the effect of additive blends of oil treatment on the physicochemical properties and performance on lube base oil was studied. Base oil was blended with three different forms of oil treatments and the effect of engine stress on the physicochemical properties of the engine oil blends was determined. Characterization of the samples showed that additive increases the specific gravity of the base stock. The specific gravity (at 15oC) (0.8896) changes as the additives are added in range of 0.8916 to 0.8996.The blended oils have viscosity index values from 112.44 to 120.18 are higher than that of the base oil (87.13).This signifies that the characteristics of the lubricating oils have been enhanced by blending with additives. Evaluation of the effect of engine stress on the physicochemical properties indicated that the viscosity index and total acid number increase with an increase in distance travelled from 300km to 900km while the flash point and specific gravity decrease. This shows that the oil treatment enhances the quality of the oil blends.
